Pole Position: Remix Comes to iPod
Namco Bandai announced today the launch of it’s new game, Pole Position: Remix, for iPods. This release marks over 25 games available on the iTunes store since the first ipod game was offered by this service last year.
On the other hand, Namco is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of its arcade classic Pole Position II by releasing this game.
Remix is actually a remake of the classic Pole Position II. It contains all 4 of that game’s original tracks plus a newly-designed race track and a bigger focus on avoiding explosive collisions.
In Remix, you compete for first place on any of five 3D tracks. Obstacles like puddles, oil slicks, and other cars will get in your way as you race through four game types. Billboards contain art based off your music selection, with additional themes, cars, and courses ready to be unlocked.
The game features new control options, updated graphics, and a new soundtrack, including the ability to listen to music off of your iPod while playing.
The game became available today for $4.99 US from Apple’s online movie, music and video game download retail system, iTunes. But be sure to check out & bookmark Download iPod Games to download Pole Position: Remix and other ipod games and stuff.
Remix’s other iPod-specific features include the ability to play your own music as you race around the tracks, and get your album artwork randomly displayed on in-game billboards.
